THINGS TO DO IN LONDON SUMMER '22 | ART EDITION

One thing is for sure, you will never be bored in London. It can be an expensive city, especially for tourists, but there are many great free things to do too! Here I have collected some of my favourite artsy things to do this summer.

Leake Street Arches, Waterloo

Website: https://www.leakestreetarches.london/
Location: Leake Street, London, SE1 7NN

This famous tunnel filled with street art is right by the Waterloo station. It is easily accessible and has many places to grab a bite.

Some of the rules of the tunnel include:

  • Graffiti and street art are permitted, and actively encouraged, on the walls and ceilings of the Leake Street Tunnel.
  • Graffiti featuring sexism, racism or advertising will be removed
  • Please take all empty spray cans home or dispose of them responsibly
  • The only motor vehicles that are welcome are authorised service and event vehicles and emergency service vehicles.

A great place to grab a bite is the very fun Draughts London located right at the entrance of Leake Street. There are various options of craft beers, cocktails and wines to go with the delicious food, but what makes this space special is the great range of over a 1000 boardgames to keep you entertained all night! Good to note that there are also great Vegan and Gluten free options on the menu.

Queer Britain Museum,
Kings Cross

Location: 2 Granary Square, King's Cross, London N1C 4BH
Accessibility: Queer Britain is wheelchair accessible and has toilet facilities.

UK's first LGBTQ+ Museum opened it's doors in May 2022 and welcomes all, regardless of sexuality or gender identity, to find out of the history and culture that we live in from a queer perspective.

From chosen families to historic events and famous demonstrations, this exhibition shares beautiful pictures of diverse experiences of what it looks like to be queer.

Included are a selection of pieces from Van Der Stokker between the years of 1989 to 2021. Mixing the everyday life of work, home, illness and care with joyous prints and colourful drawings, this is a very exciting, inspiring and fun exhibition to wander through!
