AUTUMN JOURNALING.

October is always a month of magic. The air is starting to get crispier and leaves are changing colour, falling and filling the streets. And of course all the magic in the air builds up to Halloween. A night where beings transform and are free to roam the streets!

When the days get colder it's so lovely to wrap up in warm jumpers, blankets and have a nice cup of tea or coffee. When you don't want to brave going outside into the rain, you can pick up a book and get all comfy indoors. What a perfect time to also journal!

Journaling ideas for autumn

1. Write down quotes from your favourite books

Autumn and winter are seasons for sitting in a nook all warm and cosy reading a book. It's great to have a notebook where you can collect all your favourite quotes and thoughts as you're reading, so you can easily revisit the book without having to read it all over again.

2. Make a list of things you love about autumn

Some things I love about autumn are:

  • Walks through neighbourhoods with nice buildings (even better with a cup of coffee)
  • A bath in soft light with candles and bath bombs
  • Dressing up in layers, nice scarves, mittens, jumpers
  • Coffee shop dates (with friends or tinder matches)
  • Wandering through museums (especially Tate Modern in London)
  • Re-watching Gilmore Girls
Once you have your list, try to plan time to do all the things you love! It's nice to fill in your calendar with little plans alone too, for example planning time to take a bath or read a book or go for a walk around your neighbourhood!

3. Write letters to friends and family

It's always lovely to receive mail in the post, but you can also just write letters in a notebook and not show them to anyone. If you do want to send the letters to others, it can be about anything and everything. Write about your day, a book your reading, your favourite recipe or favourite quotes and stickers.

If you're writing letters to never be sent, you can express all the feelings and thoughts you have without censoring about something you're going through or something you wish you could say to others but don't know how. If you write for yourself, the text doesn't have to look good or make sense. Just write it all out.

Midnight magic

To be able to do some magical journaling this autumn, I have received my October's Papergang. The box is designed by Olivia Burton | London. See me unbox it here:
